Since 2021 ANRD has been the national partner of Schola Campesina Italy on the use of TAPE – Tool for Agroecology Performance Evaluation – that involves 12 countries of the Europe and Central Asia (ECA) region, supported by FAO REU, to explore experiences of local agroecology at field level. Partner organizations have also been invited to take part in a Community of Practice on TAPE and agroecology in the ECA region that is the first regional structure on agroecology that ever existed in this region and has a promising future ahead.
During 2022, our collaboration includes the following activities:
- In 9 June 2022, ANRD hosted the regional webinar which focused on promising practices of women’s economic empowerment in the Western Balkans through gender-sensitive value chain development for sustainable agri-food systems. https://www.scholacampesina.org/16037-2/
- Activities to raise awareness and advocacy of small holders and rural activists in using SDGs This will include back-to-back meetings combined with the previous proposed outputs including training on how to assess, interpret and use SDGs indicators and other data to influence policy making process.
- Participating in physical workshops on the agroecology schools’ methodology held in May 2022, Italy
- Collection of data on the role family farmers played in Albania during the disruption of food value chain due to COVID-19 and other restrictions and draw policy proposals.
