ANRD is delighted to announce its participation in a new project:
“CultiVETing: Cultivating Entrepreneurship in the Agrifood Sector through VET”. This project aims to bridge the gap between the VET* sector and the labor market needs in the AgriFood sector in the Western Balkans.
The work, to be carried out over the next three years, focuses on enabling the environment for vocational clusters to boost local socio-economic development through social entrepreneurship, more accessible, inclusive, quality TVET-business, and entrepreneurship-based provisions. These efforts are responsive to emerging local labor markets in the Agri-food sector, which are strategic for both Europe and the Western Balkans ecosystems.
In particular, the project’s focus on bridging the gap between VET and business in the economic sector of agri-food and sustainable production and consumption is strategic. This aligns with the national policies of Albania and Kosovo, as well as the regional priorities of the Western Balkans. It is highlighted by the New Growth Strategy for the Western Balkans, which aims to transition from a traditional economic model to a sustainable economy, in line with the European Green Deal.
The project also supports the vision for the development of Albania and Kosovo, as outlined in the Multidimensional Review (MDR) of the Western Balkans. It contributes to the objectives and expected impact of the European-Western Balkans cooperation framework. These goals were mentioned by the AFET Committee in the Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans. This emphasis was underscored during the EU-Western Balkans Summit held on October 6, 2021, where emphasis was placed on the importance of good neighborly relations and regional cooperation. This cooperation is deemed necessary to achieve the Plan’s objectives and establish an inclusive Common Regional Market.
