Albanian Network for Rural Development seeks a Project Assistant for the EU funded Project- Networking and Advocacy for Green Economy – NAGE
The Albanian Network for Rural Development (ANRD) a network of civil society organizations which operates in rural development is looking for qualified candidates to fill the abovementioned position of Project Assistant of the EU funded Project- Networking and Advocacy for Green Economy – NAGE.
ANRD is created from the ‘bottom-up’ by fourteen civil-society organizations with consolidated profiles in rural development on December 2015. ANRD supports and implements policies of rural development in Albania in the light of the principles that guide the country’s integration into the European Union. Currently ANRD is member of both, European and Balkan Rural Development Network (BRDN).
Balkan Rural Development Network (BRDN) members work together and cooperate in the area of rural development and sustainable rural area diversification, and participate and implement jointly capacity development and networking programs, advocacy and monitoring, as well as share experiences and best practices on participation in policy development with the aim to enable positive development environment for the rural population of the countries they represent.
Networking and Advocacy for Green Economy (NAGE) – a three year project funded by the European Union (EU), aims to enhance the policy and decision-making impact of BRDN and its constituents, through involvement in the agricultural and rural program and policy reform processes for introduction of the green economy concept. NAGE project is expected to open a new area of intervention in front of the rural communities of the Balkans and the policy and decision-making representatives of the NON-EU countries participating in the project. The action will put on the national agendas the issue of environmental protection and green entrepreneurship as integrative part of the agricultural and rural development programs. The project partners are the Networks for rural development in the Western Balkan Countries. Rural Development Network of the Republic of Macedonia is leading the project implementation. ANRD is the implementing organization of NAGE project in Albania.
The Project Assistant will report to the Project Manager and will work closely with NAGE project team and ANRD National Coordinator. He/she will be engaged 75% of the working time.

Duties and responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Project Manager and in close consultation with ANRD National Coordinator, the Project Assistant will be responsible for the following main tasks:
- Deal with the activities that are relevant under the Project and outlined in the Project contract. The Project Assistant will support the Project Manager in the achievement of Project objectives including the responsibilities of general management and Project administration to constantly improve the efficient implementation of the Project activities;
- Prepare briefings, papers, documents and presentations as input to various organisational processes;
- Providing administrative and logistics support to the organization of the project activities;
- Assist in procurement processes for goods and services or other procurement actions foreseen in the project;
- Draft routine correspondence and communication with Project partners, service providers, experts, interpreters, and other relevant counterparts;
- Participate in project partners’ meetings, conferences, study visits, and workshops in Albania and abroad, when required;
- Build and maintain relationships and networks with the Project’s stakeholder in Albania;
- Support the development and implementation of Project monitoring tools;
- Perform any other duties related to the implementation of the Project.
Required Qualifications
Applicants shall have the following qualifications:
- Master degree in relevant discipline, such as political and social science, international relations or other related field;
- A minimum of 5 years (Extensive) experience in international Project’s implementation and management;
- Previous experience in EU-funded Projects dealing with rural development, civil advocacy, green economy will be an asset;
- Excellent verbal and written command of English including the ability of preparing official documents and reports;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Knowledge of rural development political and strategic framework and recent development in the sector; Knowledge of EU policies and institutions is desirable;
- Familiarity with the most relevant software programmes (word, excel, outlook, internet, power point);
- Organizational and analytical skills;
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues from different cultural and professional backgrounds;
- Enthusiasm and commitment to the mission of the ANRD.
