For the first time in Albania, the National Assembly of Young People in Rural Areas is organized on October 11, 2023, in the premises of the Agricultural University of Tirana (UBT).
The Assembly is organized as part of the Rural Albanian Youth (Rural-You) project which is a support for a wider advocacy platform: the 3rd Rural Albanian Parliament.
The national rural parliament organized by the Albanian Network for Rural Development (ANRD) in partnership with UBT, represents the most sustainable bottom-up advocacy effort, creating space for dialogue and cooperation, exchange of perspectives on important and current issues of rural development and agricultural, as well as to provide recommendations for revitalizing rural life and economy.
The third Parliament comes with a complete platform, creating for the first time opportunities for young people from rural areas, young farmers, and entrepreneurs to gather in their Youth Assembly: “With young people, for young people, by young people themselves of the Rural Youth Hub of ANRD”.

14:30 – 17:45 FIRST NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF YOUTH IN RURAL AREAS
The first National Assembly of Youth in Rural Areas is an important event that focuses on the current and future prospects of rural youth. The assembly sheds light on the realities faced by young people in rural areas, both the challenges and aspirations that affect their lives. Recognizing the fundamental role of young people in supporting rural communities, agriculture, and food security, the Assembly focuses on an urgent issue: the migration of young people from rural areas, which represents the most important risk for the sustainability of the sector and community life in rural areas.

15:00 – 15:30 Plenary session: The present and the future of young people in rural areas
The plenary session aims to bring together young participants from different rural areas all over Albania to engage in productive discussions about the challenges faced by young people in these areas and to explore their future prospects.
Keynote speaker: Sustainable perspectives in local communities for all.
Presentation: The Youth of Rural Albania project and the impact on the activation and participation of young people in agriculture and rural development.

15:30 – 16:00 Youth Interactions: Comments/Questions and Perspectives
An opportunity for new participants to share their thoughts and engage in discussion.
16:30 – 17:45 Rural Youth Dialogue: Challenges, priorities and solutions
(World Caffe methodology)
Exploring opportunities for youth involvement in agriculture and rural development by holding discussions on various topics related to the present and future of youth in rural areas. These sessions will take place in a cafe-style setting to encourage open dialogue and the exchange of ideas.
