CESVI has intervened in Albania since 1997, first in the middle and southern areas of Sarandë, Gjirokastër, Përmet, Delvinë, Lushnjë and Fier. CESVI projects were focused on the emergency sector (basic health care, water and sanitation, emergency refugees from Kosovo crisis, etc.).

CESVI’s goal is to involve the most disadvantaged groups and to support local authorities in order to improve services and capacity building and to implement new development projects in agriculture. From 2004 to the present, CESVI is working in the southern part of Albania (Pёrmet and Skrapar District), focused in the promotion of tourism, standardization of food-farming production, the creation of a brand name for the typical and local products, creation of new job positions, and increasing the quality of life of the rural population. Additionally, CESVI works with local organizations in order to create a model for rural districts which is sustainable, thanks to tourism and quality food-farming.
