Training Title: Advocacy strategies for youth in rural development

Within the framework of the project “Rural Albanian Youth (Rural You)”, the Albanian Network for Rural Development (ANRD) opens the call for participation in a three-day training on the topic: “Advocacy strategies for young people in rural development”. The training will be held in Tirana from October 11-14, 2023.

This training aims to empower young participants to promote positive change in rural communities. The goal of the training is to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to actively engage in effective sustainable rural development efforts.

The training provides knowledge in advocacy, policy-making processes, public policy analysis, effective advocacy strategies, and communication. In addition, the training focuses on collaboration, partnership building and networking.

The call for participation in this training is addressed to young people from rural areas who want to contribute to rural development.

The training is aimed at 10-15 young representatives from all over Albania who want to actively participate in the formation of agricultural policy and rural development. Interested individuals are invited to apply using the application form by September 27, 2023. Only selected applicants will be contacted by September 30, 2023.

The costs of transportation, accommodation and meals during the training days will be covered by the organizers.

The Trainer: Matteo Bartolini is the National Vice President of CIA- Agricoltori italiani, one  the most important professional associations for farmers in Europe.

  • After graduating in Economics and Commerce, in 2004, Bartolini started his farm where he added to traditional crops the cultivation of truffles, carried out with experimental methods in collaboration with the University of Perugia.
  • After several experiences in AGIA (Italian Association of Young Farmers), between 2013 and 2015 he was the President of CEJA (European Council of Young Farmers), which represents 2 million young farmers in Europe belonging to 30 agricultural organizations from 24 Member States.
  • Since 2021 he has been the Representative of Cia – Agricoltori Italiani among the World Farmers’ Organization.
  • His academic and professional background will be available to young Albanians during three days of training on advocacy strategies in rural development in Tirana.

The course will address the group of selected young people to reinforce their skills in advocacy and interest representation capacities and, at the same time, their knowledge in the field of European agricultural and rural youth-oriented policies and financial instruments.
