“Local Democracy Agency in Albania” has on its focus exchanges of experiences and mediation for the development of mutual dialogue at all levels (cultural, social and economic) between communities in Albania and the community of European partners. LDA primary purpose is to encourage concrete initiatives for the consolidation of democracy at local level, development of institutional capacities at local level through expertise and experience exchange, training of civil administration and local consultants, development of an European city network for the protection of human rights, including minorities in the broad level, a social pluralist society and the promotion of intercultural and inter ethnic dialogue. The organization aims to expand its activity in the entire Albanian territory, opening branches in regions and municipalities and increasing the number of its members.
The main aim of LDA Albania is:
- Facilitation of civil society participation at local level decision making;
- To encourage citizen’s interest, sensitivity and ability to take part at local level decision making;
- To promote local authorities capabilities to fulfill citizens need;
- To promote exchange of information and interest between Albania and other countries in Europe with the purpose of promoting the best practices through the close and ongoing collaboration.
